10th Letter meets Omari Jazz

  • The Midnight Society 3341 Southeast Belmont Street Portland, OR, 97214 United States (map)

Pull Up PDX and Thirsty City proudly present a night of live outside beats, heavyweight bass, and afrofuturist sonics featuring a b2b live set between Atlanta’s 10th Letter and Portland’s own Omari Jazz.

10th Letter a.k.a. Jeremi Johnson is a staple in the underground psychedelic arts+culture scene in Atlanta. Since 2011 Johnson has released 20 full albums of immersive material that pulls hip-hop, jazz and soul influences through digital and ancient psychotropic filters to create an aesthetic that seeks to render genre categories irrelevant. Drawing inspiration from surrealism, 10th Letter combines live instrumentation, electronic drums, samples, and found sounds to create heavily textured sonic landscapes and transcendent audio-visual performances.

Omari Jazz is a producer/composer based in Portland. Bandcamp called his 2020 record Dream Child "one of the most immersive beat tapes in recent memory". His latest musical offerings include a hypnotic remix of Australian band Hiatus Kaiyote’s “All The Words We Don’t Say” from their “Mood Variant (The Remixes)” album released on Brainfeeder Records last year.

with live sets from Northern Draw (Thirsty City) (w/ special guest Icon Sleepy Tut), Ice Pink, and Saltfeend, plus DJ set by EmVKush (Pull Up PDX / PDX Mandem)
