Perimeters EP Release with STRZYGA and Nightsister
Perimeters is a Portland-based band that blends the introspective depth of post-punk with the dreamy textures of shoegaze. Their music often features driving basslines, ethereal guitar riffs, and hauntingly melodic vocals, creating a sound that’s both moody and electrifying. They craft an atmosphere that’s immersive, with lyrics that explore themes of isolation, longing, and existential reflection. Perimeters’ live shows are known for their intensity and emotional resonance, drawing the audience into a world where melancholy and euphoria coexist in perfect harmony.
STRZYGA - Portland musicians Daniel Gruska, Ben Dahmes, Joel Seaking, and Tripp Watson, formerly of Roselit Bone and Haunted Spurs, unite to create a distinct dark, gothic-inspired sound. Drawing inspiration from post-punk icons like Pink Turns Blue, The Chameleons, and The Cure, their music explores themes of historical mayhem, religious horror, and personal relationships with death and disease.
Nightsister - Portland’s NIGHTSISTER return with their latest EP Chill Times in Hell (July 2025) — an evocative synthesis of darkwave, industrial, post-punk, and electronic atmosphere. With its emotionally resonant vocals, distorted shimmering guitars, and brooding cinematic style, their music offers a modern take on gothic and cold-wave influences, resonating with fans of She Past Away, Haunt Me, and French Police. Secret Society Presents: PRSN+GOODWILL+CHAACH+NOJESUS
Join us for the next edition of Secret Society, a dance party with PRSN, Goodwill, Chaach!!!, and NOJESUS.
Secret Society is a party series curated by Loopacabra, an American music producer and Beatport charting artist.
We are incredibly lucky to have a rising star in the global bass music scene, PRSN, headlining this limited capacity event.
PRSN is a longstanding DJ and event curator based in Portland, OR. As a key mind behind Wake the Town, a decade-long event series centered on contemporary bass music, PRSN has helped shine light on both emerging talent and established artists from around the world.
Earlier this year, PRSN launched Pockets alongside longtime friend Annu, which leans on self-expression, provides a platform to mix their bag of design aesthetics, and celebrates the evolving landscapes of global club music.
With his ongoing work, PRSN has made a vital impact within the local and regional dance communities. There’s an underlying soul to the dance floors he cultivates and his flow and crate-digging sensibilities as a DJ are deeply compelling.
Goodwill is a producer/DJ based in Portland, OR known for dynamic sets unrestricted by genres, moving the dance with a flow that is uniquely his. Dancers can expect sounds ranging from breaks and garage to dancehall and global bass, uptempo club sounds and more, all tied together with flavors of hip-hop, rap and grime. Goodwill is passionate about building community through dance floors, which he brings to life as a co-founder of Portland-based party throwers, Vibe Check. He’s received support from reputable names like Sublimate Records, Beat Lab Radio, Danktronics, Muti Music, American Grime, DNB Dojo, and many others.
NOJESUS is the bass music project of Loopacabra and Mummyfingaz. The duo started making music together in 2011 and have released several albums of drum and bass, bass, deep dub, and other flavors of wubs. NOJESUS spawned a plethora of songs, art pieces, videos, inventions, and apps, ultimately gaining the attention of Ableton Live and resulting in Mummyfingaz being recruited to the company and moving to Berlin. Many years later, in 2025, Loopacabra and Mummyfingaz remain best friends and have reunited for a special live performance at Secret Society.
CHAACH!!! is a DJ that will take every request ONLY released on vinyl, digitally. This native New Yorker’s Instagram handle is @chaachnyc, despite the fact that he’s been DJing in Portland for 16 years. He was born in Ecuador, making him ECUADORABLE. Hmm.
CHAACH!!! has played with many famous DJ’s in the past 23 years of his “career”, 5 of which still are. The music style you will hear is Open Format with a heavy Afro/Latin influence. The inscription on his tombstone will read “no requests”.

Shaylee (Single Release) with Universal Friend and Matching Patterns
Shaylee is a power-pop/post-rock project based in Portland, Oregon, led by trans artist Elle Archer. After debuting with Short-Sighted Security on Kill Rock Stars in 2022, Shaylee took a hiatus only to return stronger with a full band including Idis Rapozo (Soda Jinx) and Annie Wilder (Missine). Now the band is celebrating the release of their brand-new single “Reintroduction” with this special show.
Public Universal Friend is an art-rock/americana act out of Indianapolis, fronted by queer, trans singer-songwriter Jody Galadriel Friend. Emerging from a decades-long solo career, the 2021 debut Perennials served as Friend’s “coming out” album—melding Appalachian folk, post-punk, 90s emo, and hymn-like motifs into emotionally raw songwriting. Their 2023 follow-up Chrysalis deepens the exploration of southern gothic themes and trans identity with bold tracks like “Jesus, Pt. 1,” widely embraced as a queer evangelical anthem. PUF has become a cherished figure in the local queer music scene, garnering attention from NPR and other notable outlets.
Matching Patterns are a rock band rooted in Portland, Oregon. Their music spans from groovy folk-pop to fast-paced punk rock. With releases like Seafaring Fever Dream and Dry My Blurry Eyes, they're gaining a reputation for catchy melodies and energetic arrangements. Dry My Blurry Eyes earned a nomination for Album of the Year from Uncle Ears in 2024, with praise for its vibrant fusion of 60s-inspired harmonies and punk-pop exuberance.

The stargazer Lilies with Tremours and Rick Bain & The Genius Position
Little Cloud Records and MirrorEye Present
The Stargazer Lilies - “Field and Cep channel the reverb-washed slo-mo of Slowdive and the sparkling ambiance of Air into a lush, guitar-swollen whole”. “Psych- Fuzz Epic”-Spin Magazine
“What your so-called shoegaze is supposed to sound like. Indelible melodies and singing plus great guitar work”.-Brad Laner of Medicine
“The Stargazer Lilies possess a truly widescreen, cinematic sound with crescendoes that build cascading waves of sound enveloping your whole body. The music is a bit darker than standard dream pop fare but that only makes it that much more mesmerizing.” “If you’re in the need of some serious new dream pop -and who isn’t- you can scarcely do better than The Stargazer Lilies.”-Pop Matters
“Modern shoegaze often falls flat because it seems more occupied with getting the sound right and foregoing everything else; The Stargazer Lilies get the sound and the feel right and that makes their album much, much more than just revisiting the past”.-Tim Sendra/All Music
Tremours - formed in Los Angeles in 2021 by the duo of Lauren Andino and Glenn Fryatt. Late night jam sessions in the midst of lockdown uncertainty slowly transformed into TREMOURS creative partnership, driven by the tension between Andino’s hazy, drifting guitars and Fryatt’s urgent, pulsating drums.
South Carolina-born Andino has played with LSD And The Search For God and most recently L.A. Witch as a touring guitarist. Fryatt hails from Portsmouth, England, and has toured as a drummer for artists such as Cherubs, The Montrose Avenue and Ten Benson.
Tremours sees them each newly harnessing and exploring their own creative impulses, inspired by everything from shoegaze to jazz to electronica to literature to looking out at the sea. “Most of our songs center around loneliness. Not necessarily sadness, but the comfort that you can find in being lonely,” says Andino. “It’s when I feel most calm.”
“Live, we have been told that it can be intense,” Fryatt says. “I have no choice but to let go and trust Glenn when we are playing. This is the only band where I've had to do that, and I think that's where our intense stage dynamic comes from -- focusing and trusting one another,” Andino adds.
Rick Bain & the Genius Position – Portland’s Psychedelic Storyteller
For more than two decades, Portland singer‑songwriter Rick Bain has sculpted some of the city’s most captivating psychedelic rock. He first turned heads in 1997 when he re‑created the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds on a 4‑track recorder in his apartment, playing every instrument himself (a feat covered in this early profile). Bain formed the Genius Position and released the hypnotic blend of Pink Floyd‑meets‑Beatles pop Crooked Autumn Sun (2000). The album earned rave reviews from outlets like the Village Voice and L.A. Weekly, and Anton Newcombe of the Brian Jonestown Massacre later said it was the album he wished he’d made.
Bain followed with Virtual Heavy Pet (2004), a Brit‑pop‑inflected record whose standout tracks “Welcome To My Daydream” and “Amy Jane” are celebrated in reviews. After stepping back to raise a family and work outside of music (a comeback story told in PDX Magazine), he returned with the shimmering Keep It Glowing (2019) and a 20th‑anniversary vinyl edition of Crooked Autumn Sun in 2020. Today Bain performs only a handful of shows each year with a line‑up that includes his wife Amy Jane on bass and organist/manager Byron Lee. This is a rare chance to witness a true Portland legend in an intimate setting.

Drouth is a Portland black metal outfit pushing the genre’s boundaries with dense compositions, searing intensity, and unexpected beauty. Drawing from the traditions of atmospheric and melodic black metal while leaning into avant-garde structures, their sound evokes both grandeur and collapse—like a cathedral crumbling in slow motion. Drouth’s live sets are cathartic and unrelenting, offering a raw, immersive experience that speaks to fans of bands like Weakling, Ash Borer, or early Wolves in the Throne Room.
Aerial Ruin is the solo project of Erik Moggridge, weaving acoustic doom-folk that’s as ghostly as it is devastating. Known for his collaborations with Bell Witch and his hypnotic solo performances, Moggridge strips everything down to voice and nylon-string guitar, creating a stark, meditative atmosphere. His music carries the weight of loss and the calm of surrender—spiritual, shadowed, and deeply human. If Nick Drake had been raised in a crypt, he might sound something like this.
Lividus is a metal band hard to define. Formed in 2017 by vocalist Uta Plotkin (ex-Witch Mountain) and bassist Connie Wang (ex-At the Seams), the band combines harsh and beautiful vocals with relentless speed, melodic riffs, and unexpected rhythmic turns. Their sound covers a landscape of brutal hardship and wicked triumph.
