HÖG with Glowing Brain and Blade
HÖG "70;s heavy rock/proto-metal with a Truth & Janey vibe.. Get high on the HOG! Favorite track: Turning Blind."- Bandcamp Fan
Glowing Brain - Hailing from Oakland, CA, Glowing Brain are back with their second album, "Memory Distortion," recorded at El Studio in San Francisco, with Phil Becker (Mondo Drag, Big Business) once again at the helm. Mostly fast, always loud, and rarely sober, the trio serve up ten more tracks of self-described "long hair punk." This time around, the trio have expounded on that idea, channeling their cannabis-induced collective anxiety into a distinctive style of ripping motör-charged hardcore, unafraid to explore the deepest reaches of the inner cosmos. Call 'em punk, call 'em metal, just don't call 'em cold-necks.
Blade - Beer guzzling, head banging, heavy metal maniac power trio from Portland, Oregon

PillowPrince (OAK) with Lackadaisy and secret special guests !
Pillowprince is an Oakland-based indie gaze band that makes rock from cracking folds of leather and glittering chain link, from nights of red-gelled stage lights and mornings after that are way too bright, from hair matted with joy and danger and most of all from bodies making places for themselves only they know.
Songwriter and guitarist Olivia Lee sings about queer joy, pain, love and subversion, punctuating raw sincerity with vibrant brooding guitar riffs. Together with Sea Snyder on drums, they create dense, propulsive shoegaze anthems.
Massive and melodious, Pillowprince ebbs and flows between a dramatic intimate grandeur and irreverent indie pop on their debut EP, pretty, baby!, coming out on Dune Altar Records on April 25, 2025. (for fans of Palehound ,Mannequin Pussy ,True Widow, DIIV, Squirrel Flower, The Breeders)
Lackadaisy is a Portland based grunge duo formed in the summer of 2024 by Ryan Garaventa and Jenna Leigh. Drawing inspiration from ’90s icons like The Breeders and Pavement, Lackadaisy aims to capture the raw, fun energy of making music with friends, all while not giving a fuck.
Their debut single, "Don't You Wanna Feel," dropped in March 2025, accompanied by a self-produced music video, followed closely by their second single, "Train," in April, with a self-produced music video as well—both self-recorded with guidance from David Pollock (Wild Ones, Cake), who also mixed and mastered the tracks. Pollock is set to mix and master their upcoming full-length album, slated for a late summer release.
While Lackadaisy operates as a duo in the studio, their live shows expand into a four-piece, with David Burrows (Mitch and the Melody Makers, Moody Idaho) on Guitar and Keys, and Nate Anderson (Friends Friends, Buddy Wynkoop) on drums, bringing their songs to life with full-band intensity.

Mt Fog with Twingle and Tispur
Mt Fog A conscious mycelial network and perhaps "Seattle's premier art pop eccentric" (Bandcamp Daily), Mt Fog began as the project of singer and classically-trained violinist Carolyn B. and has been "expanded now to large, euphoric dimensions and laced with connective tissues of drum and bass" (dusted mag) with Andy Sells and Casey Rosebridge. Mt Fog has been enchanting audiences across the Northwest and most recently, Europe, with their high energy, haunted-forest performances. Their new album ultraviolet heart machine has been called "thrillingly theatrical" (Bandcamp Daily), and “a vulnerable, transformative experience" (WASH). Featured in KEXP and named by critics a top album of 2024 in the Seattle Times,it is out on vinyl via Ghost Mountain Records.
Tispur is a dream-folk project fronted by Samwise Carlson which forms intricate guitar, dream-like vocals, and ornate lyricism to excite evocative imagery of imaginary worlds. Samwise is known for their angelic vocal style, impressive range and gently hypnotic, moving performances akin to the spirits of Nick Drake, Vashti Bunyan, and Joanna Newsom.
Twingle is the moniker of songstress and multi instrumentalists Anna Sabatino based out of Portland, OR. Raised in a one room cabin in the small town of Evergreen, Colorado she began writing songs at young age featuring guitar and banjo. Her roots are in oldtimey folk and bluegrass, but later went on to realms of Experimental/Psychedelic/French pop which all work to cultivate her sound and melodic patterns. Her songs live somewhere in the realm of familiar but entirely unexpected. Twingle’s debut album Future Caviar coming out August 18th 2024, is a can of worms focusing on the personal lives of female writers of the 19th and 20th century. The album was recorded to tape in the garage of Anna and Eric Sabatino. Produced by their dear friend Tommy Hollywood.

Emberthrone (Sacramento, CA) brings blistering technical death metal laced with blackened brutality. This 4-piece – featuring Monte Barnard (ex-Alterbeast, The Kennedy Veil) and Gabe Seeber (Decrepit Birth, Vale of Pnath) among its ranks – dropped their ferocious debut EP Godless Wonder in 2022, establishing themselves as a new force in the tech-death scene.
Between Realms, a rising death metal act from California’s gold country. Formed in 2023 by longtime friends Jonny Burnett and Hayden Taylor, Between Realms season their modern death metal with thrash and black metal influences and shred-worthy 80’s-style guitar harmonies. Fronted by Monte Barnard (of Thy Art Is Murder/Fallujah fame) and powered by Gabe Seeber’s drumming (Vale of Pnath, Alterbeast, The Kennedy Veil), the band’s debut From Boundless Black (2024) quickly gained international traction – and now they’re poised to tear up the Portland stage.

Tension/ Release compilation showcase presented by Errorgrid and Heterodox
Errorgrid is an art community showcasing the work of experimental electronic music artists with a strong focus on investigating human nature, emotions and themes around resilience, interrelations and boundless self expression. Using music as a gateway for exploration, healing and self observation lies at our core.
We seek to provide platforms on which musicians can celebrate their truth free of genre constraints or cultural judgment while finding appreciation and useful feedback from their peers and listeners alike.
Our core belief is that while technology is an inherent part of our art and provides us with the tools necessary for its creation we must refrain from allowing it to interfere with the essence of the message in order to preserve the innate humaneness that speaks through our art. Our analogue truth must not become quantized.
"Electronic music is electronic in its doing, not in its being."
About the event:
Tension/Release is the first Errorgrid showcase in its new Portland home and celebrates the release of the compilation "Tension/Release 2" - a joint effort between Errorgrid and local label Heterodox Records, directed by local artists Nundale and Puxflux.
Built around the concept of polarizing energies it presents a selection of Oregon based artists who were asked to contribute tracks to either energy in order to form a balanced whole. The compilation lives from the individual interpretation as well as the allover curation of these single energies.
Attendees to the show will receive a 50% discount to download the compilation on Bandcamp and have access to exclusive merch only available at the event.
Filming and photography will take place. With your attendance you sign off the rights to be visible in any footage produced.
The show will be live recorded and made available to the public via Errorgrid.

Midnight Morning Grunge/Rock - Vancouver, WA. Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Midnight Morning is a musical brotherhood that has seen it all.
Die Right– Sweat, swagger, and six-string salvation. These Portland punks got the raw nerve and the mean hooks to shake your bones loose. No frills, no filler—just loud, dirty, and dangerous rock & roll the way it’s meant to be. Get in, get wild, and let it hit you like a fist full of lightning.
Monty Vega & The Sittin' Shivas “are one of my favorite discoveries of 2021 so far. The band’s ’60s power pop meets Ramones-esque punk sound had me rocking out from the opening notes of “Last Step,” the first of fourteen tracks jammed onto this album. The needle on the gauge between their power pop and Ramones influences swings from track to track, but I enjoyed the variety this provided. Every one of the songs on Closed No Fun is a banger, making it hard to pick a favorite, but there’s also nothing that you don’t want to hear after repeated listens. I particularly enjoyed their cover of Scandal’s “Goodbye to You,” an example obviously leaning more towards the power pop end of their sound, but with an edge to their version not present in the original.”
