Lucia Luna is a nonbinary musician and vocalist from Portland, OR. They channel ethereal melodies and spellbinding synthesis through voice, keys and creative sound manipulation. Lucia composes through temper, creating texture with shrill sounds and hollow layers. Their moods hit the listener with elation, despair, and discernment of the subtleties between. Lucia’s range traverses a journey from dreamscape to dancewave, relishing in the empowerment of imperfection, vulnerability, and deliciously raw expression.
Lucia’s gift is to evoke the power of otherworldliness, channeled through musical expression as well as theatrical and dynamic stage performance. On stage, Lucia enters another dimension, radiating spirit and strength through embodiment of their craft. Their art is an experiential offering of empowerment for LGBTQ+ people everywhere to claim their place in the world with confidence.
Lucia released their debut solo EP “Hunting Midnight” in June of 2020 on Occultists (Berlin), followed by a remix EP for their track “Shiver” in 2021. Orkis is the Electro-pop Synthwave project of artist and producer, Joseph Lanker featuring angelic songstress Casey Hoelting.
Currently based in Portland, Oregon, their music is rooted in piano composition, enhanced by visual and performance art. The debut record 'Afterbath' was released in april 2019 as an eclectic mixture of atmospheric environments, industrial percussion, and dance-pop. Orkis then released the videos for "Pivot" and "Shadows", two hit singles from the album, and began performing throughout the west coast.
Since then, Joseph has produced music, and videos for other artists such as Lucia Luna, receiving accolades from Postpunk.com, Xray.fm, Mercury magazine, and the Berlin label, Occultists.Their second record "THE DUALITIST" is set to release Spring/Summer 2022. A dynamic combination of Trip-hop, Ambient techno, Industrial rock, and 80's synth-pop, Orkis will inspire the urge to dance with a filthy pout.
