PULL UP PDX PRESENTS THE RETURN OF ATLAS

Pull Up PDX proudly presents a summer night of post-national bass & beats with the return of Portland’s legendary club night ATLAS.

Atlas happened monthly—often twice-monthly—at Holocene throughout that venue’s first 10 years of existence. It featured the talents of the iconic DJ Anjali and The Incredible Kid (who currently run the crowded monthly nights Andaz and Tropitaal) and the internationally known E3 from the local dub label ZamZam Sounds.

Genres included reggaeton, bhangra, Arabic and French hip-hop, Balkan beats, funk carioca, dembow, Desi bass, electro Chaabi, cumbia, Rai, reggada, vintage Afrobeat, grime, Asian Underground and MORE…

Guests included such global bass luminaries of the time as Maga Bo, State of Bengal, Toy Selectah, Chief Boima, Nomadic Noize, Turbo Tabla, Soul Salaam, Dr. Israel, ERS-One/DJ Magneto, J Boogie, Sujinho, DJ Rekha, Poirier & Zuzuka Poderosa

According to the story of ATLAS, written by The Incredible Kid:
“The first ATLAS was November 1st, 2003.  It was the day after a Friday Halloween, and the club was dead. Probably less than a hundred people. We really didn’t know what to expect two weeks later, but there were 400 people there, so after a false start, the party was off and roaring.”
