Formed in Glasgow, Scotland at the turn of the 21st century, Mungo’s Hi Fi is a group of producers and DJs united in their love of Jamaican sound system culture and electronic dance music. Manifesting early on with one of Glasgow’s premiere bespoke hand-built sound system speaker array, Mungo’s has since become the institutional hub for Europe’s new generation of sound system. On both their own Scotch Bonnet label and others, Mungo’s Hi Fi has released a dozen albums alongside dozens more EPs and singles, collaborating with a variety of artists including Prince Fatty, Marcia Griffiths, Max Romeo, Charlie P, Marina P, Kenny Knots, Brother Culture, Daddy Freddy and many others. They were also early proponents of the UK’s dubstep boom, appearing on Tempa’s Dubstep Allstars Volume 6 and hosting a stage at Croatia’s Outlook festival.

Solo Banton burst onto the scene in 2009 with the blistering hit "Talk To Me" with Maffi and Jahtari, as a veteran in the music business but a newcomer as a recording artist. People asked: Was this going to be a one-hit wonder? Solo answered with a series of anthems that have rocked crowds from every corner of Europe and throughout the world, including a clutch of anthemic singles for the Mungo's Hi-Fi labels Scrub a Dub and Scotch Bonnet. His first two albums--2010's Walk Like Rasta and 2012's Higher Levels--were released on Kris Kemist's Reality Shock label and featured production by the likes of Disciples, Bush Chemists, and many others. Over the years, his live performances have gone from strength to strength with an energized style that boosts his message. Showing the full range of his talents Solo now host the Lions Den stage at Boomtown Fair, which boasts the biggest reggae lineup in any UK festival. Solo has established himself as one of the best host/comperes in the business, constantly hosting the main stages at the biggest festivals in UK. His latest album, In This Time, was released this spring for the French-based Irie Ites Records label.
